Interventional Orthopedics

Interventional Orthopedics

Interventional orthopedics is a minimally invasive medical specialty that utilizes guided injections and procedures to facilitate the healing of bones and soft tissues. Ultrasound or fluoroscopy helps directly place orthobiologics, such as stem cells or platelet rich plasma (PRP), or small surgical instruments precisely where needed to trigger bones and tissues to heal.

Instead of using invasive or open surgery, we practice interventional orthopedics to treat many common injuries and conditions because it minimizes risk and shortens recovery time. According to the Interventional Orthopedics Foundation (IOF), only about one percent of physicians in the United States can claim they use interventional orthopedics. Below are ways we utilize interventional orthopedics to provide optimal treatment to our patients.
